William C Durant and Louis Chevrolet co-founded Chevrolet in the year 1911 on November 3rd. It is a subsidiary of its American parent company General Motors who deals in the manufacturing of automobiles. Also referred to as Chevy, this automobile division has its headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, and has its operating network all over the world.

First Chevrolet was introduced in the fall of the year 1913 at Auto-show in New York. In the year 1918, it launched Series D, in Tourer models and Roadster model with a powerful V8 engine. It was dropped from markets next year because of poor sales. In 1919 it rebranded GMC trucks of commercial-grade as Chevrolet. During 1920-30-40 the brand was known for its low-priced vehicles. In 1933, it introduced Standard Six as the cheapest car in the United States with six cylinders. During the sixties and seventies, Deluxe Impala Series became its best-seller and created history in the automobile industry.

Chevrolet has its network in nearly one hundred and forty countries with sales figure that reaches in millions. At present Brand Chevrolet sells nearly 47 models out of which 26 are Cars, 5 SUVs, and 5 Minivans/Vans and 11 Trucks. The brand has started manufacturing trucks and cars that are fuel-efficient.

In the year 2010, it started production of Chevrolet Volt, which was later declared as North American Car, World-Green Car, and European Car of the year 2012. Some of the latest versions of Chevrolet include Chevrolet Bolt EV, priced at 37,500 $. The brand has claimed that 200 horsepower will provide it with 0-60 times in less than seven seconds. Chevrolet City Express Minivan is priced at only 21,955 $ and Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is priced at a base price of 59,400 $. The brand has entered its various cars in sporting events like NASCAR, FIA World Touring Car Championship, and Indycar. Chevrolet as a manufacturer has an amazing thirty-nine titles in NASCAR and six back-to-back wins in Indianapolis 500 from 1986 to 1993. Chevrolet has replaced Audi as the automotive sponsor of Manchester United, the English football team in May 2012. It also became its shirt sponsor from 2014 for the next seven years. In July 2012, the brand entered into a partnership of four years with Liverpool F.C. another football team of the English Premier League. It has now become the club’s automotive partner in an official capacity. The deal had to end prematurely after two years and was replaced by its own subsidiary Vauxhall Motors.
